Summer Fun For Jenny

The Manor House has a new addition to it’s beautiful gardens; Jenny has been able to bring her summerhouse from her own garden in Southwell to enjoy with her friends and other residents here in the Manor House. Jenny came to the Manor House in January 2024 following a brief period of respite care. Although Jenny lived in Southwell, she has friends here in Radcliffe and even more friends at both St Mary’s and the Methodist churches. Jenny does not regret moving here as the facilities and the local transport links mean that she is not at all isolated. As her own house had to be sold she requested that her summerhouse and a teak bench be donated to the Manor House. Staff and volunteers at the Manor House built a base in a position close to the pavilion which enjoys a particularly good view of the garden. The summerhouse had to be dismantled and part of it cut down in size in order to remove it from Jenny’s property in Southwell. A few months ago it was finally installed and Jenny has already enjoyed sitting out in it and feeling that she is home from home. The summerhouse has 2 chairs and a small cabinet so that Jenny and other residents can sit and enjoy a drink. For security the summerhouse is locked and opened up during the day for people to enjoy, but Jenny has her own key, just in case!
