New Member of our Care Team

We were very pleased to welcome Cheryl Terry to the Care Team at the Manor back in November and we were interested to hear her thoughts on The Manor when compared with the Care Home she worked at previously.

She told us that she found The Manor “a much more relaxed working environment” when compared to her previous workplace which was interesting – and that “the needs of the individual residents were understood and respected.” She added “I feel that at The Manor House I am a carer, not a robot.”

It was very pleasing to hear her observations.

Cheryl is already a valued member of our team and is a very keen participant in the Magic Music Monday event which – surprisingly – takes place every Monday. This is where residents and staff sing along together whilst (for some at least) wearing wigs to help enter the spirit of the song. I am told that the favourites so far are “Yellow Submarine” and “Jailhouse Rock.” Cheryl can be seen somewhere under the wig!

The New Year has started with us receiving a personal letter (see below) from our MP, James Naish! In his letter he acknowledges the difficulties that the Home has been through over the last 6 months but comments very positively on our most recent inspection. His remarks about the ‘culture and values’ we have at the Home are particularly pleasing feedback for Michelle and everyone that works at the Home.

We want to thank all the many people who have supported us over the last few months and to wish you and your loved-ones a very happy 2026.

From all of the Team at The Manor.

Our Christmas Fair Saturday 6th Dec – Come on down!

Preparing the presents!

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our wonderful Christmas Fair on Saturday, 6th December (from 10.00am to 1.00pm).

Santa will be waiting to say a cheery hello to all who visit him.

We have some fantastic prizes in our raffle and on our tombola stall; and amongst other attractions, a Christmas Cake Competition; jigsaw and book lucky dips; and joining our other stallholders will be our ever popular ‘Wine or Water’ stand. With refreshments and delicious home-baked cakes being served throughout, do come along and join us!

Our Christmas Fair!

We are very pleased to confirm we are holding a Christmas Fair in the gardens of the Home. Santa will be joining us if you have any little ones who would like to say ‘hello’ to him. The date for your diary is Saturday 6th December, 10-1. We do hope you are able to join us. The event is free and open to everyone in the Radcliffe community.

Our residents will be joining in the excitement as we prepare for the Christmas Fair, and we will be supporting activities at the Home which will include wrapping prizes and presents and making Christmas decorations, as well as decorating the Christmas trees which will be both in the Manor House and in the grounds in the Pavillon.

There will be a large marquee in the grounds and at this moment we do have room for additional stalls.  So, if you are a stallholder and this is of interest, you will find contact details below for further information.

We would really welcome donations of any unwanted Christmas gift wrapping paper (part or full rolls or packs), outside Christmas lights (battery operated), or other Christmas decorations which you no longer need.  These can either be dropped off at The Manor in person, or we can arrange for them to be collected – contact below.

We do hope you will be able to join us!

Gardening Time at the Manor

We are very proud of our magnificent gardens at the Manor and we know that they give our residents a great deal of pleasure and comfort. Many of the relatives enjoy taking their loved-ones out into the fresh air and we are hoping to be able to purchase some additional seating in the near future.

The gardens are lovely – but they do need a lot of work!

Pictured are some of the volunteer trustees and committee members lending a hand.

Community café for The Manor House

Today (18th October) we were the guest local organisation for the Community Café at the Methodist Church in Radcliffe. Much cake was cheerfully consumed! Many thanks to the church and also to the the girls from the football team we sponsor who were kind enough to help with the serving. Volunteers from the Manor House Committee were there also to help.

The funds raised will contribute to the various projects we have for the residents at the Care Home – for example the installation of a new fountain in our courtyard.

Five Generations at the Manor!

Sheila, who has been with us at the Manor House for more than 5 years is pictured here welcoming the new arrival to her family. With her are her daughter (Lynn) her grand-daughter (Marie), her great-grand-daughter (Leia) and the delightful new member of the family, her great-great-grand-daughter Ava! 5 generations together.
